Welcome
to the last of 12 weeks of Christmas. Today’s card is a card that I received
from fellow demonstrator Alison Britt. The card is beautiful and is a vertical
joy fold.
Stamp
set: whimsical trees
Card:
shaded spruce, real red, basic white, tidings of Christmas dsp
Today's project uses the Suite of Products called Merriest Moments. It includes a stamp set, hybrid embossing folder and dies. It's very cool, as you emboss and die cut at the same time!! The technique is called sanding embossed dsp. This is a great technique and if your cardstock has a white core, then when you emboss and use a sanding block on the raised image, it takes the top layer of colour off revealing the white core.
This card was inspired by my dear friend and team member, Lyn.
Today's project uses the Gingerbread dies from the Gingerbread and Peppermint suite of products featured in the July-December mini catalogue and I have paired it with the Ever Eden Designer Series Paper from The Eden's Garden suite and is an early release from the upcoming January-June mini. These papers are only available as part of the early release and when they have sold out, they won't be available after that.
Welcome to Week 8 of 12 Weeks of Christmas. This post is a mini bloghop with Sue Allen, a demonstrator friend on The Central Coast. You will find the link to her blog further down in my post.
Today's card is a fun fold called Double Diagonal Fold Card and I saw this on fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, Brenda Quintana's website. It was her Christmas in July post. You can see her post here.
For this card, you need a square with a diagonal of 27cm (easily divided into thirds) which gives a square measuring 19.12cm. With the card on the diagonal, line the corner of your card up on the 15cm line and score at 19.5cm and then at 24cm. Rotate and score on all 4 sides.
To decorate:
Crease all folds with a bone folder.
Cut 4 rectangles measuring 8.5cm x 4cm from the Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper.
Cut 2 squares measuring 5.5cm in a contrasting colour from the Heartwarming Hugs designer series paper. Cut these 2 squares in half on the diagonal.
Cut 1 square of basic white measuring 8.5cm. Stamp a sentiment and tree from the Perfectly Plaid stamp set in Real Red.
Using the detailed trio punch, punch a ribbon hole on 2 sides.
Fold as above and below.
Thread the ribbon through, and wrap around the back and out the other side and tie a bow.

Welcome to Week 7 of my 12 weeks of Christmas Cards. This week's card is one of the cards that we made at Belair Creative Cards in October.
This project was so fun to make!! The base is basic white and has a layer of misty moonlight. It has a "window" cut out of the top using the Wise Men Tidings". It's such a beautiful, eyecatching window which is useful for lots of different techniques. The layer behind it is a piece of vellum and is inked using the smooching technique. Use a new acrylic cutting plate from the Cut and Emboss die machine. You can also use a glass cutting mat, a large clear block (which is larger than your piece of card) or a plate from your Stamparatus. Use your stamp pad and ink directly to the plate. I have used misty moonlight, Bermuda Bay, pacific point, pool party and gorgeous grape. Spray with water using a Stampin' Spritzer. Spray until the colours blend and lines disappear. Now spray with some Isocol and the colour will bead. Place your vellum on top of the colour, making sure that the entire piece is inked. The vellum will curl, Dry with a heat gun, this will help straighten it out. Attach to the back of the "window" and this gives you a pretty evening sky. Die cut the Wise Men and colour with blends. The sentiment is stamped in watermark and embossed with white embossing powder.
