Both my cards today are variations of cards that I have CASED.

Party Panda and amazing you meets petal passion dsp

Todays cards feature the Petal Passions dsp.  I really like the geometric feel to the background dsp.  The happy birthday thinlits dies look great in pacific point and layered ontop of a second happy birthday cut out of whisper white.  The panda is holding 3 balloons, the first coloured with pacific point, the second, pool party and the third soft sky.  The base of the card is pool party.

On the flowers below I have coloured in with the stampin blends markers.  I have used bermuda Bay and Pool party.

Both cards were cut out using the Brother Scan n cut machine.

Pretty Little Bird

I just love the images from the petals & more thinlits dies, beautiful flowers combined with a beautiful bird image.  On the top card I have used peekaboo peach and berry burst for the flowers, and always artichoke for the branch.  I have stamped the bird in memento and used blender pen to colour in.

The second card I have used pink pirouette and berry burst for the flowers and for the ornamental strip and the birds I have used dapper denim.

Heartfelt Blooms Sale-a-bration Stamp Set in dapper denim

The heartfelt bloom saleabration stamp set is a beautiful flower.  It lends itself to a monocromatic themed card which is how I have used it in the cards in my post today.

My first card I have stamped it on a layer of whisper white and used a piece of colour theory paper to stamp my greeting on and then layer on.  I have finished it off with some pearl basic jewels.  The happy birthday is from the perennial birthday stamp set.

On my second card, I have stamped off each time to create a softer look.  Again using dapper denim.  The greeting for this card is from Lift Me Up. 

My third card is has 3 different tones, the darkest image is full strength, and then stamped consecutively without reinking inbetween.  I love this look.  I have layered with paper from the colour theory dsp paper stack.  Greeting is also stamped on colour theory dsp and I have again used the Happy Birthday from Lift Me Up.

The card below is a CASE from the SAB catalogue but instead of using pinks, I have used dapper denim.  Just love this colour.

On this card the flower is the focal image, giving it a nice crisp look.

On this card, I have stamped the flowers on a piece of the colour theory dsp, giving an altogether different look.  

Wedding invitations using Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies

Just recently I had the awesome pleasure of making a friend's wedding invites.  I made several samples but the one she loved was using the Detailed Floral Thinlits Dies.  Here are some photos of the end product and the process involved.  Cardstock is Night of Navy and whisper white.

Cut a piece of night of navy 29cm long and score at 9.5cm then at 23cm.  Run through with the dies.  

The panel is in 2 pieces and adjoined together.  Piece one is 21cm x 13.2cm scored at 10.5cm, 2^nd piece is 11.5cm x 13.2cm scored at 1.2 cm giving the panel size 10.3cm x 13.2cm when joined with piece one.

The ribbon goes in between these two layers.  Attach the folding panel to the back of the decorative pattern.  The layered whisper white panels are 10cm x 12cm x 4cm

Invites are now ready to be delivered.  They were thrilled with them.  So was I :)

I also made the placecards for the reception.  I was really happy with the way they came up.

Petal Passion DSP meets Stampin' Blends

Today's cards use the designer series paper called Petal Passion.  Is black images printed on white paper.  I have coloured in using Stampin' Up!s new Stampin' Blends.  These are alcohol markers which are high quality, dual-tipped markers.  They come in 12 exclusive Stampin' Up! colours - each with a light and dark shade - as well as ivory, bronze and a colour lifter.  On my cards below I have used Pink Pirouette, Calypso Coral and Pumplin Pie.

On the card above is the one side of the dsp.  You can see the flowers that I have coloured in.  On the card below, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the ink came through the paper giving the black leaf images a lift.  I actually prefer this side and decided make up this card instead and coloured in a second piece to create the card above.  The greeting for this card is from the stamp set picture perfect birthday.

Aren't these panda bears adorable!!

For this set of cards I have paired tthe pandas with the picture perfect paper designer series paper.     They go so well together, don't you think?

Beautiful day butterfly

Yesterday I did a post on using brusho crystal colour on glossy card.  You can see my previous post here.  As a result I ended up with two pieces of card.  On the second piece, I decided to coordinate my butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set.  On my layer I had used brusho powders yellow, mossy green and Prussian blue.  I used the mossy green and Prussian blue to colour in my butterfly using my wink of stella pen which gives the butterfly a nice sheen.  I used my brother scan n cut machine to cut out the butterfly.  I am really happy with the way this card turned out.  The greeting is from perennial birthday stamp set.

Beautiful Peacock in pacific point and pear pizazz

For this card I have stamped the peacock from the Sale a Bration Beautiful Peacock stamp set in pacific point.  I have used my Brother Scan n cut machine to cut out the peacock and layered it on top of the pear pizazz plumage.  I have then stamped the tail feathers in pacific point layering it ontop of the plumage.  I have stamped the small flowers creating a background image around the peacock.  I have then cut out the peacock using the layering ovals and layering square framelits.  I have mounted this layer on a scalloped piece of pacific point card which is lifted up on dimensionals.  Greeting is stamped is from the picture perfect birthday stamp set and is stamped in pacific point and punched out with the classic label punch and the decorative layer is cut out with the die from petals & more thinlits.

Petal Palette OnStage make and take

This card was one of the make and takes at OnStage in November.  It uses the petal passion dsp and is coloured in with markers.  The bird is stamped in calypso coral.  The focal image is layered on a piece of contrasting petal passion dsp and a piece of whisper white organza ribbon

Waterfront on glossy card using Brusho Crystal colour and Rubbing Alcohol

Waterfront Stamp Set from the Occasions Catalogue has to be my favourite stamp set at the moment.

Here is a landscape scene I have created using glossy card and brusho for the background.

Step One:  Have your glossy card landscape and sprinkle yellow along the top (about 1/3).  Next sprinkle the Moss green along the middle and then the Prussian blue down the bottom. 

Step Two:  Spray with the alcohol. If you don't have alcohol just spray with water. 

Step Three:  Lay another glossy piece on top with glossy sides touching.

Step Four:  Run a brayer over the top which will distribute the colour over both pieces of glossy card.

Step Five:  Separate both pieces of glossy card. 

You now have two pieces of glossy card to work with.  

Step Six:  Stamp the sun in crushed curry in top left corner and the mountains across the top in marina mist.

Step Seven:  Using the mountain stamp still, overlap the mountain images with smoky slate.

Step Eight:  Stamp the long skinny piece in wild wasabi, overlapping across the base of the mountains.

Step Nine:  Using pool party, Stamp the triangular water image along the bottom  .

Step Ten:  Using island indigo,  add the detailed water image diagonally overlapping each image. 

Step Eleven:  Add the trees stamped in early espresso.

Step Twelve:  From the High Tide stamp set, add the seagulls stamped in island indigo.
