Today’s card uses a technique called concertina fold. The tutorial was from a fellow demonstrator called Connie Stewart. You can view her tutorial here. I modified the measurements for a metric card and also for the width of the bauble aperture in the centre of the card. The bauble make a great aperture.
Measurements
Pretty Peackock - inside panel - 7cm x 26cm scored at 1.5cm, 3cm, 13cm, 23cm, 24.5cm
Card front and back panel x 2 - 10.5cm x 14cm
The mechanism - basic white
13cm x 21cm, scored at 10cm, 20cm
13cm x 20cm, scored at 10cm
Top layer, balmy blue 10cm x 13.5cm - embossed with the distressed tile 3d embossing folder (retired)
Layer the 2 basic white pieces on top each other with the longer piece on the bottom with the extra 1cm being on the right. Center the bauble die in the right 10cm panel, add a bit of washi tape to keep it in place, run through the die cutting machine. Score all folds, attach the panels together. Fold up and run through the same embossing folder to add texture. Attach the front and back panels to the basic white mechanism. Decorate the floating layer and attach to the inside of the mechanism by lining up the folded edges. Glue in place.
Die cut 2 baubles in basic white and stamp the bauble leaves in pretty peacock ink, and the floral in balmy blue ink.
Decorate the panel with the bauble image and stamp the leaves in balmy blue and the floral in pretty peacock.
Stamp the sentiment on basic white scrap and punch out with the heartfelt hexagon punch.
