Scrapbooking challenge

My first scrapbooking attempt in over 12 months. This is my daughter Megan at her Year 12 formal.

For the page I chose as the background card - rich razzleberry. I then layered a piece of cottage wall dsp with the photo on top. I had no ribbon, so I made a decorative edge using scallop edge punch down side of photo. I wrote the title and punched out whisper white using scallop oval and old olive using wide oval. I made a pocket behind photo and used round tab punch for easy slidng for the journalling.

What is ESAD you say?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australian (and New Zealand) Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin' Up!

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when it's needed.

And now for my projects. In the first two cards, I have used the Medallion background stamp. This is a very versatile stamp. You can do so many different techniques with it. On the first card I have stamped on gloss card using sponges to apply ink to the rubber using perfect plum and rich razzleberry. Rich razzleberry is one of our new in colours for this mini catalogue. I have stamped the image twice, and punched out the centre using our 1 3/4" inch circle punch. I then have applied two way glue and dazzling diamonds. I have used the scallop edge border punch on the bottom of the gloss card. I have then punched out an extra layer of scallops and added them as a feature. I have used the Clean & Simple sketch challenge for this card.

Recipe for this card is:
Stamp Sets: medallion, a little birthday cheer
Ink: rich razzleberry, perfect plum, whisper white
Accessories: scallop edge border punch, 1 3/4 circle punch, 2 way glue, dazzling diamonds glitter.

For my next project I chose to do a split negative card using the medallion stamp.

I stamped twice, one using whisper white ink and the other basic black. I then ran those images through the big shot machine with the top note die. I then cut the die in half and reassembled as you can see in the card above.

Recipe for this card is:
Stamp Sets: medallion, a little birthday cheer
ink: whisper white, basic black
paper: riding hood red, whisper white, basic black.
Accessories: big shot, tope note die, word window punch

My next two cards are using the new stamp set Vintage Vogue. Again I have used the top note die with pacific point. As you can see, I have cut up the top note die. For this card I used a sketch from PageMaps

Recipe for this card is
Stamp sets: vintage vogue
ink: pacific point, baja breeze, whisper white
paper: baja breeze, pacific point, pink pirouette
accessories: big shot, top note die

The last card is using the top note die. I have folded my a5 card in half and placed on top of the die. I have placed it over to one side, making sure that the fold of the card is positioned so that it is not being cut by the edge of the die. I also cut a piece of cottage garden dsp in the same position. I cut this about 5 1/2 cm from the edge. I now assemble my card, the floral side is the top and the reverse is the bottom. I add a trim of orchid opulence using the eyelet border punch.
I stamp the "friends" stamp on the dsp, and then on whisper white. Cut out the whisper white and attach to front of card with dimensionals.

Cardiff Heights Baptist Church Ladies Event

I thought I would share the cards that I demonstrated for Cardiff Heights Baptist Church Ladies Event at the end of March. They had the theme of "perfect", so naturally I used the "perfect" from Life Definitions stamp set. The first card I stamped the hearts with sahara sand on very vanilla and then cut out the images. Use the aqua painter directly on the encore pad and watercolour the hearts. This gives a shimmery effect to the hearts. I then stamped the small circlular flower using encore gold and embossed using gold. Punch out with 1/4" circle punch. Using the background stamp from Baroque motifs, stamp on the very vanilla base card. Stamp also the "perfect" stamp in the right hand corner. Assemble - using dimensionals on the punched out circles. The second card is very similar, the background baroque motifs this time is stamped in the encore gold. The hearts are embossed in gold and cut out. My third card I used the Big Shot and the Top Note die with the brushed metalics gold. I then on very vanilla stamped the heart from the "always" stamp set with encore gold and embossed. Lastly I stamped "perfect" on the gold top note cut out using the encore gold and embossed.
