Spice Cake "Prefect" Scrapbook Layout

Last month at one of my workshops I did a layout for a scrapbooking page using Stampin Up's new Spice Cake DSP and the Spiced Paisley stamp set.  I wanted to show how versatile the bigshot is for using in scrapbooking.  I used the topnote die and the scallop square duo die for my layers for my photos. I demonstrated 2 6"x6" pages.  Below you can see how you can upsize your 6"x6" layout into a 12"x12" layout.

As you can see, the spiced paisley stamp set coordinates really well with the Spiced Cake DSP.

Stamp Set used:  Spiced Paisley
Ink: Soft Suede, More Mustard, Pool Party
Card:  Very Vanilla, Spice Cake DSP
Accessories:  Sponge Daubers, top note die, circle punches, scallop square duo die, bigshot machine

Dasher Meets Lovely as a Tree Reflection Technique

This coming Tuesday night at Bel Air Baptist Church "Creative Card Group" we will be using the Dasher stamp. I just love using glossy carstock. I decided to try a technique that I haven't done before but have seen it alot on the blogs that I visit. It's called "Reflection Technique".
Cut glossy card in quarters. Punch out a circle using a post it note, making sure that you cover the sticky part, place on your card. Ink up brayer in pool party and run this over the glossy card, covering it completely. Next ink brayer in baja breeze and run this over the glossy card horizontally, covering about 3/4 of it. Now ink brayer with marina mist and run over 1/2 the card horizontally. Run through bigshot with the topnote die. Stamp the large tree image from "lovely as a tree" set over the top portion of the card. Rub the anti static pillow over your card. Stamp "Dasher" using versamark watermark. Pour "cherry cobler" embossing powder over the image. Heat set. Stamp the large image from the "lovely as a tree" set on a large acrylic block, if you haven't got a large acrylic block use acetate with the marina mist ink. Turn the glossy card upside down and now match the image so it is next to the first stamped image. This gives you the "reflection".

For the background layer, I have used the vintage wallpaper folder and rolled this with the brayer inked in whisper white craft ink. Place a piece of island indigo cardstock in the folder and run through the bigshot. It gives a beautiful two toned effect.

Here is a closeup of the reflection.

Cardiff Heights Baptist Church Ladies Event

I thought I would share the cards that I demonstrated for Cardiff Heights Baptist Church Ladies Event at the end of March. They had the theme of "perfect", so naturally I used the "perfect" from Life Definitions stamp set. The first card I stamped the hearts with sahara sand on very vanilla and then cut out the images. Use the aqua painter directly on the encore pad and watercolour the hearts. This gives a shimmery effect to the hearts. I then stamped the small circlular flower using encore gold and embossed using gold. Punch out with 1/4" circle punch. Using the background stamp from Baroque motifs, stamp on the very vanilla base card. Stamp also the "perfect" stamp in the right hand corner. Assemble - using dimensionals on the punched out circles. The second card is very similar, the background baroque motifs this time is stamped in the encore gold. The hearts are embossed in gold and cut out. My third card I used the Big Shot and the Top Note die with the brushed metalics gold. I then on very vanilla stamped the heart from the "always" stamp set with encore gold and embossed. Lastly I stamped "perfect" on the gold top note cut out using the encore gold and embossed. Card Receipe: Stamp set - always, life definitions, baroque motifs Ink - encore gold, sahara sand Paper - very vanilla, brushed metalics - gold Accessories - embossing powder, embossing buddy, big shot, bigz die - top note, powder pal, 1/4" circle punch Thanks for looking
