Classes at Belair for the month of Jan 2024

This month our cards are going to feature the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch and the Softly Stippled designer series paper from this years SAB 2024 catalogue.

I just love the cascading pattern you can make with this new Heartfelt Hexagon Punch, it is so versatile and looks fab punched out of the Softly Stippled dsp.  My 3rd card is a CASE from fellow demonstrator Rebecca Scurr and you can see her card here.

Whitewash technique and Enduring Beauty stamp set

Hello again, I wanted to share this beautiful card with the technique called Whitewash and also thought it would be good for a technique video.  We will be doing this technique in our classes at Belair in March!!

This technique is one of my all time favourites.  And now with the masks that coordinate with the Enduring Stamp Set, it's so much easier.

Firstly, stamp your image with versamark on a darker coloured piece of cardstock.  In my sample above I have used Misty Moonlight, in my work in progress sample below, I've used Starry Sky.  Emboss with copper embossing powder and heat set.  Overlay the first mask to work out the orientation of your layer.  Tape to your work surface.  Line the 1st mask again, and adhere in place with tape or magnets.

With either a blending brush or sponge dauber, apply Whisper White craft ink to the area exposed to the stamped image.  Now ink up a sponge dauber with Starry Sky and lightly sponger and highlight the centres of the flowers.  Remove mask.

Now line up the 2nd mask, and this time using a sponge dauber, ink up Starry Sky and ink up the exposed leaf images.  The more ink you apply will darken the leaves, which will make them pop.  Remove masks.

Buff the flowers to remove excess ink from the embossed image.

A close up to the flowers, aren't they beautiful!!
