CASING the CATTY - front cover using Ornate Style stamp set

I've been wanting to reproduce the image on the front of Stampin' Ups 2020 Annual catalogue for ages.  I decided to use the Ornate Style stamp set before it retires and try 3 different stamped image finishes.

On my first card I have used rich razzleberry ink.

On my second versamark with white embossing powder and on the third, versamark and clear embossing powder.

Products used:

Stamp set:  ornate style, lovely you

Card:  basic white, pool party, just jade, mint macaron, crushed curry, blushing bride

Ink: just jade (sentiment), versamark, rich razzleberry

Accessories:  white and clear embossing powder, linen thread

Butterfly Brilliance and Happy Dies

I just love the butterfly brilliance bundle in the upcoming new Stampin Up catalogue.  On today's cards I have used the dies and the happy dies that are retiring soon.

Cut out the thin detailed outline butterfly die in basic black cardstock.  Cut out the solid butterflies using the corresponding dies.  Using blending brushes, colour the solid butterflies with magenta madness, so safron, and pacific point.  "Birthday" sentiment is from Pretty Perennials.  Layer the butterflies and sentiment on a whisper white layer embossed using the meadow moments embossing folder.

Butterfly Brilliance in blues meets using dies to create a mask

In my card today I have stamped the Butterfly Brilliance stamp by applying ink to the stamp using sponge daubers with just jade, misty moonlight, night of navy, Bermuda Bay, pacific point, I then used the die which resembles a brick wall and cut out a mask, repeating the image several times to create a wall.  Layer this on the card and then sponge with smoky slate. To add further texture, run it through the tasteful textures embossing folder.  Sentiment is from art gallery stamp set.

Embossed Floating Inlay Technique / Inlaid Floating Technique using Lasting Elegance Dies

I was inspired by a technique by fellow demonstrators Alissa Tilsner and Heather Cooper with a new technique that I hadn't seen before.

Here is my take on this technique.  My card base is basic black with a layer of whisper white that has been sponged with the range of blue's we have in the catalogue using blending brushes.  Next I cut the focal image out of basic black and put it aside.  I then layered the die on the white rectangle towards the corner, and moved it slightly off the edge in both directions.  I then cut using the die hence creating the place to inlay the black die cut.  Greeting is tamped in memento and is from Here's a card stamp set.

Friends are like Seashells

Friends are like Seashells is one of my favourite stamp sets in the latest Stampin Up mini catalogue.

In my cards today, I have used pool party, balmy blue, seaside spray, misty moonlight, just jade, baja breeze and pacific point, tempting turquoise.
