Week 7 of 12 weeks of Christmas - Great Tidings meets smooching technique

Welcome to Week 7 of my 12 weeks of Christmas Cards.  This week's card is one of the cards that we made at Belair Creative Cards in October.

This project was so fun to make!!  The base is basic white and has a layer of misty moonlight.  It has a "window" cut out of the top using the Wise Men Tidings".  It's such a beautiful, eyecatching window which is useful for lots of different techniques.  The layer behind it is a piece of vellum and is inked using the smooching technique.  Use a new acrylic cutting plate from the Cut and Emboss die machine.  You can also use a glass cutting mat, a large clear block (which is larger than your piece of card) or a plate from your Stamparatus.  Use your stamp pad and ink directly to the plate.  I have used misty moonlight, Bermuda Bay, pacific point, pool party and gorgeous grape.  Spray with water using a Stampin' Spritzer.  Spray until the colours blend and lines disappear.  Now spray with some Isocol and the colour will bead.  Place your vellum on top of the colour, making sure that the entire piece is inked.  The vellum will curl, Dry with a heat gun, this will help straighten it out.  Attach to the back of the "window" and this gives you a pretty evening sky.  Die cut the Wise Men and colour with blends.  The sentiment is stamped in watermark and embossed with white embossing powder.

Week 5 of 12 weeks of Christmas and a Sketch Challenge

 Welcome to week 5 of my 12 weeks of Christmas posts.  Today's card uses the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper and is paired with the Freshly Made Sketches FMS509.

Week 4 of 12 Weeks of Christmas - Festive Foliage meets the Smooching Technique

Welcome to week 4 of 12 Weeks of Christmas.  This week I have again used the Festive Foliage stamp set and paired it with the smooching technique.  

The smooching technique is such a fun technique.  Using a large clear block, swipe the ink pad over the block transferring ink to the block.  Do this with each colour.  Then spritz the block with water and then hand sanitizer and watch the colour swirl.  Dry completely.  Stamp the image using versamark and then  pour white embossing powder over the image. Heat set.

Week 3 of 12 Weeks of Christmas - Festive Foliage Stamp Set

Welcome to Week 3 of 12 Weeks of Christmas Cards.  This has been a great way of helping me decide what cards to make for Christmas this year.  This week I have teamed up with a sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  

I started by lining up my stamp in the stamparatus and lining up the basic white layer side ways.  I inked up with Soft Sea Foam and then used sponge daubers to add different greens to give a great monochromatic look.

12 Weeks of Christmas - Week 1 Poinsettia Petals and Whimsy & Wonder DSP

Welcome to my 12 weeks of Christmas, this is number 1. Come back each week and check out my Christmas Card projects!

 My card features the poinsettia petals stamp set and die bundle and it coordinates perfectly with the whimsy and wonder designer series paper.

These cards are really pretty!  The poinsettia dies make perfect flowers and are so easy to make.  the dies also emboss the petals all in one go.  

My first card uses a sketch from Fusion Card Challenge.  

I changed the orientation of my card. 

My second card uses the Paper Craft Crew Sketch Challenge # PCC446.
